You know when you get into a routine of using the same makeup products all week, then all month, and eventually all Summer. I’ve had this recurring dilemma happen with me all summer long. I find myself reaching for the same products and doing the same makeup look. Boring I know, but that’s what I feel comfortable with so I go with it. I know I’m supposed to be a blogger who changes it up and try new trends and does the most when it comes to her makeup, but honestly guys, I’m just like you. I fall back into my comfort zone way too often and I tend to do the same nude looks I feel confident in. That being said, if you are into my #allNUDEeverything look then you’ll want to add these products to your Sephora cart 😉
I’m going to start with the order I do my makeup in.
Of course my foundation of choice is the coveted Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk, you guys are probably sick of me even talking about this product but I can’t help it. It’s truly, in my opinion, the best foundation ever! I use it all year round but especially in the summer because it gives my skin such a luminous and healthy glow.
I don’t usually use concealer unless I’m going out at night but when I do this Maybelline concealer does the job for me. It is lightweight, gives beautiful coverage, and doesn’t cake up. I have a full review on this product right here.
O-M-G! If you have light to medium skin and you don’t already own this, please just do your self a favor and splurge. It is the most beautiful shade of cream bronzer I have ever come across that is truly a universal shade for all light to medium skin tones. I use this on all of my brides because of its perfect shade and creamy texture. When I first purchased this product about 3 years ago I honestly hated it because I couldn’t get it to blend. Then I started to use it with a fluffy brush (my two favorites are the Luxie 512 & the Royal & Langnickel BC120) and some oil. I use 2 drops of my Elcie Glow Enhancer, then I spin my brush around to pick up some product and apply.
Want to glow for the gods? Here is the only ingredient you’ll need for that recipe. I apply this with my beauty blender on the high points of my cheeks circling around the side of my face towards the top of my brows, then down the bridge of my nose, on my cupids bow, and a little bit on my chin (refer to
the face chart on the right for a better understanding). This liquid highlighter is super pigmented so if you want something more subtle all you have to do is apply a drop or two on the back of your hand and with your beauty blender dab and move the product around to sheer it out. If you’re going for that blinding glow we all love, then dab directly into the product and apply without sheering it out. I use the latter technique at night so my husband can spot me from a mile away LOL.
No surprise here that my powder of choice is the Luminous Silk. It is just to die for silky and gorgeous on the skin. I apply this all over my face with a big fluffy brush just to keep my makeup from sliding off, since I use so much cream products in the summer. Most powders will mattify the glow and suppleness that cream products give you, but this one never does that. It simply gives me a light luminous layer of coverage and elongates my makeup wear.
This is another product I use to powder my face, however it’s not so much to keep my makeup in place it’s more for giving my skin a glow. After I’ve applied my foundation all over my face, including my eye lids, I will set my lids with this powder. I use my damp beauty blender to dip into this product and directly apply it onto my lids to set that foundation in place and give my eyes a gorgeous glow with some shimmer. I also use a small amount of this to set my under eyes. However, if you have bags under your eyes or any swelling avoid this step because this product will only accentuate those flaws.
This has to be my favorite bronzer palette of all time. For someone who has light skin it is extremely difficult to find a bronzer with the right shade of brown, orange, red, and ash tones. This baby has that perfect balance of colors just like the Chanel cream bronzer mentioned above. This is literally all I ever use!
This is the ultimate summer highlighter! It is a lightweight powder that has light reflecting shimmers that gives your face a gorgeous sparkly glow (especially when the sun hits). This product also looks great on the body.
This highlighter is another summer fav because it is a loose powder that gives you an intense glow. The more you apply and build this product the more intense it becomes. If you are a glow-getter you need this baby! If not, try out the Girlactik “Natural” highlighter for a more subtle summer glow (use code greta15 for 15% off all products).
I take this brow pencil everywhere with me, especially when I travel. I love my brow powders but when you are traveling you want one product to get the job done and this product does just that. The best part? It is perfect for summer because it’s waterproof and still easy to apply.
Summer is all about the bronze and glow for me. My signature makeup look, not just in the summer but year round, includes a shimmery eyelid and a bronzy crease and I do just that with this foiled eyeshadow. It is so pigmented and so beautiful, especially under the summer sun. I have a blog post with swatches & a review of this baby, check it out.
Sticking to my signature makeup look, ever since I discovered this product I’ve been using it on days where I want an extremely pigmented and sparkly lid. You know I’m all about metallic shimmers and this is literally the sparkliest cream shadow I have ever used. It has actual specks of glitter so that when you apply they shine and sparkle all day, so gorgeous. Surprisingly, they are also really easy to blend out. I use this on my brides all the time!
I’ve been using this mascara all summer long! It doesn’t clump, there’s no fallout, and it doesn’t transfer. I love that it lengthens and thickens my lashes too. I don’t wear false lashes unless I have to, especially in the summer heat, so a great mascara that lasts all day is a must.
Setting your face with this finishing spray will probably save your life. I like the Bridal one because I feel like it works better and it truly keeps your makeup on all day long! I use this when I know I have a long day ahead of me, when I’m going to be in the sun for a long period of time, and even when I don’t want my face to crease. I always crease in my smile lines and this product decreases that problem for me.
Want to look extra dewy? This baby is all you need. It literally makes you glow EXTRA and gives your skin a dewy finish. This is perfect for anyone with dry skin (not oily). I love this spray when I don’t have any makeup on too, it gives me a supple glow.
Since my motto all summer is #allNUDEeverything you know I have a list of nude glosses lined up! I haven’t worn matte lipstick all summer long, can you believe it. Literally not once. I’ve only been lining my lips and applying a gloss. I love that wet glossy look in the summer, I think it’s so sexy. My latest obsession in glosses is this one. It has a similar texture to my coveted Marc Jacobs glosses- not sticky, lightweight, creamy, and pigmented. “Totally” is my favorite shade.
Of course my Marc Jacobs ride-or-die gloss is included in this section. I can’t rave about this product enough, it is the best gloss on the market. Worth every penny! My favorite summer colors are “Sugar Sugar,” “Moonglow,” and “Pretty Thing.”
Here’s another gloss that isn’t sticky and looks beautiful on the lips. This drugstore baby has been my favorite way before Marc Jacobs even launched their glosses. It’s a silky lightweight gloss that feels amazing on the lips. I love all the shades but my go-to is “Eclair.”
