Top 5 Moisturizers For Dry Skin

If you have dry skin and struggle with finding the perfect moisturizer then you’ve stumbled upon the best blog post. I too have dry skin and used to struggle with moisturizers all the time!

After countless product tests later I have come up with a list of THE FIVE BEST daytime & nighttime moisturizers for all my dessert-dry gals.

P.S. Everything listed are products I’ve tried and emptied or currently use.

1. La Mer Moisturizing Cool Gel Cream

There’s no competing with La Mer when it comes to skincare, right? I emptied this cool gel cream within one month of using it every single day, twice a day. It was so lightweight that I even used it during the daytime (although it doesn’t come with SPF). I love the buttery and feather-like feel to this moisturizer and it worked well for me. However, if you have immensely dry skin I would recommend their thicker formula- The Moisturizing Soft Cream.

2. Algenist Genius Sleeping Collagen

Although this product isn’t exactly a moisturizer I use it in lieu of one. It moisturizes, hydrates, and keeps my skin glowy and gorgeous by the time I wake up. It is formulated with ceramides which are lipids that help form the skin’s barrier and help the skin retain moisture. They also protect against environmental aggressors (pollution, UV rays, irritants, etc). I’m almost all out of this product and I am obsessed!

3. MZ Skin Hydrate & Nourish

Currently, this is the only day moisturizer I use and it gets the job done and then some. First of all, I love MZ Skin everything. I’m such a huge fan of the skincare line and I love their serums, cleansers, and basically everything else they have. Second, this is the only day moisturizer I’ve seen on the market that includes retinol. Retinol is important for collagen production (keeps skin plump and youthful), reducing fine lines and wrinkles (we can all use this), and it’s known for improving overall skin tone. Third, it comes with SPF 30 so I don’t have to worry about adding another layer of SPF on top. It’s basically an all-in-one day moisturizer. The only thing I would suggest is that you’re face isn’t completely dry when you apply it. I usually dampen my face with some water so I can move the product around a little easier.

4. Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturizer

This is another gel based moisturizer I love and have emptied. I actually emptied two of these. I used to use this in the mornings and at night and the smell was so energizing, just as the name suggests. It’s an oil-free moisturizer so its lightweight, doesn’t clog your pores, and it seeps into the skin pretty quickly. I also LOVE the GinZing eye cream, I use it all the time. It’s a magical eye cream that has some shimmer to it and gives your tired under eyes the most beautiful glistening glow.

5. Kiehl’s Rosa Arctica Youth Regenerating Cream

If you have been following me for a few years then you know this had to be on my list. I have gone through FOUR of these creams, no joke! I absolutely love Kiehl’s skincare and this cream used to be my go-to cream when no other moisturizer worked. It’s super rich (they also have a lightweight version which is just as good, just depends on what your looking for) and perfect for a nighttime moisturizer. The “resurrection flower” inside is known as the Rosa Arctica is an incredibly resilient flower that’s able to survive up to 31 months of extreme dehydration.

Sephora Sale Must Haves

It’s that time of year again, the long awaited Sephora Sale!

This is when we restock on our favorites and purchase the items we keep adding and removing from our cart. You know, the ones that hike up your total so you convince yourself you can live without it. Trust me I ain’t no millionaire, I know how this goes!

I just placed my order and here’s what I got:

+ a bunch of new rewards goodies.

BTW, did you guys know every Tuesday and Thursday at 9am they add a $100 gift card to the rewards bazaar for every 2,500 points. The bad news is it’s first come first serve so it goes away pretty quickly. I missed my time slot by checking out at 10:30am yesterday but I’m going to put an alarm to try Tuesday morning. I’ll report back on IG.

My haul wasn’t that exciting, but it normally isn’t as a beauty blogger since we get sent most of this makeup right when they launch. With this fabulous advantage we get to try everything and see what’s good and what’s not. It’s amazing for all of you because I really know my sh*t 😉

Everything I mention below are products I’ve actually tried and loved. If you want specifics for certain products then comment below and I’ll let you know (i.e. what my fav shades are for MJ gloss).

Let the shopping begin!

Here are my favorite products that I’ve tried & love

The sale ends May 6 so you have a few more days to shop. Here are the coupon codes for every beauty insider level…

Top 3 Drugstore Concealers!

Contrary to popular belief drugstore products are just as good, sometimes even better, than high end beauty products. I am 100% certain you can find a comparable drugstore product to any “high end” item you enjoy. I have so many products from the drugstore that I use daily, one of them being concealers.

Years ago I did a blog post on “The Best Drugstore Concealer” and I still use this concealer to this day. In fact I repurchased a new one yesterday. This was my favorite concealer to use on clients when I was a MUA back in the day.

Ok, lets get into my list of favorites…

Maybelline- Fit Me

As I mentioned above this is probably STILL my favorite drugstore concealer. It doesn’t crease if you set it properly, never dries out the under eyes, covers really well (I have purple pigmentation under my eyes and it covers this flawlessly), and it also also an amazing shade range. I use shade 110 which i think is “Fair.”

Maybelline- Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer

I have been using this concealer for years as well and it is definitely as amazing as the reviews hype it up to be. It’s creamy, it covers dark circles & pigmentation, and if set properly it doesn’t crease. My biggest tip when using this concealer is to use a small amount because although it’s creamy it still has a thick consistency so a little bit goes a long way.

NYX- Hi Definition Photo Concealer Wand

Another ride or die drugstore favorite is this NYX concealer. It has HD coverage, it’s easy to blend, and it works better than some of the high end concealers I’ve tried. I remember so many people agreeing that this a dupe for the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, even though I think this is 100 times better! I actually really dislike the Nars formula, it never worked for me. I also love the purple and green color that this concealer comes in so you can color correct with the same fabulous formula.

Hope this post was informative and helpful if you’re in the market for an affordable concealer.
